The right choice for you and your child
KDN is a traditional, independent family owned nursery. It’s natural to feel apprehensive about leaving your child at nursery for the first time. It is important that you are completely comfortable with the childcare that you choose. To help put your mind at rest KDN offers-
Parent friendly philosophy
We believe one of the ways to ensure that we provide continuous quality childcare is by working closely with parents. By listening to parents we can learn about your Childs individual needs and their personality. Consequently we follow children’s established routines as closely as possible. During your Childs stay at the nursery we continue to work closely with parents, operating an open door policy and supplying a comments book in reception. We regularly send out questionnaires giving parents the opportunity to share their thoughts, concerns and ideas. Parents receive feedback from staff at the end of every session/day.
Comfortable room sizes
The nursery consists of three childcare rooms:-
- Baby Learners- From 3mths-17mths (approx)
Maximum occupancy 12
- Little Learners- From 17mths-three years
Maximum occupancy 26
- Rising Fives- From Three - five years
Maximum occupancy 26
Each room has a max occupancy of 26; it is our policy to staff above the level required by Ofsted regulations. This helps provide essential continuity of care and ensures that your child, experiences as closely as possible, a true "home from home" experience in which to thrive. The small sizes of our rooms enables every member of staff to know every child well and for every child to feel comfortable amongst familiar faces. We concentrate solely on caring for your child/children and providing first class childcare.
Settling in sessions
We have found, through experience, that if a child has had the opportunity to visit the nursery prior to starting they are much more settled when the time comes for them to be left in our care. Therefore we offer free unlimited settling in sessions, these can be taken over as long a period of time as is necessary. Initially we recommend that Parents/Carer’s join their child giving them an opportunity to experience to experience a typical day. On the first day the Childs key carer will establish your Childs profile, discussing routines etc.
