Rising 5s

This month in the Rising Fives our mind map focus is about Nursery Rhymes. We will be focusing on the children’s favourite rhymes and completing activities around this.

Some of the Spooktacular activities we will be carrying out are:

  • Nursery Rhyme Sack
  • Junk modelling
  • Stories
  • Musical instruments to explore sounds

As you know we love to show and tell however please can we ensure personal items brought in can fit inside your child’s draw or in their nursery bag.

Little Learners

This month in the Little Learners we will be learning about space.

Here are some of the activities we will be carrying out:

  • Junk modelling, male spaceships, rockets
  • Send a wish with a star into space
  • Stories e.g. The bear that goes to the moon.
  • Letting of balloons into the sky
  • Counting the planets in our solar system
  • Dress up as aliens and spacemen
  • Look at different pictures of places on earth, looking at the globe

We would also like to give a big welcome to Blake who has recently joined us in the little learners.

Baby Room

This month in Baby Learners we are exploring all things Autumn and we look forward to continuing many fun activities including leaf printing and conker painting. We will also be looking at the theme of transport and making a display. We would like to wish Fraser and Sienna a very happy birthday 1stbirthday that they both celebrated in September.

We would like to give a warm welcome to Camilla and Phoebe who are joining us in the Baby room!

Please may we ask for a family photograph or two for our family display? We can print these out if this is easier to email them over.

Staff Training

We have just renewed our annual subscription to our online training company Noodle Now, so staff can carry on completing training courses to update their knowledge and experience. We are looking forward to seeing what new courses they have available.

Note to all parents

On the 31st October 2018 we will be holding a Spooktacular Halloween fancy dress party, so please feel free to dress to impress!

As the weather begins to change, please can you bring in coats and wellies with your child’s name labelled inside and can we kindly ask you make sure that your child has a spare change of clothes in their bag and that their bag is on their peg.

May we kindly remind you to log on to your child’s Learning Journey and view their assessments and see how your little ones are progressing at nursery.
